GAS as FUEL

All the hydrocarbon components of natural gas can be used as fuel for power plants, other industries and also for domestic purposes. The C1 (methane) component is used in the fertiliser industry and the C2 (ethane) and C3 (propane) components are used in the petrochemicals industry. The C3 and C4 (butane) fractions of natural gas are extracted to make liquefied petroleum gas.

Abstract: Natural gas is a colourless, odourless mixture of hydrocarbons, normally consisting of methane, ethane, propane, butane and heavier hydrocarbons, which can exist in gaseous form at ambient pressure and temperature.
