It is time for celebration and gratitude. The authors who have believed in us and lent us their work, the readers who have loved our work and the funders who have found it worthwhile to invest in us—we thank you all. As the founding editor of the magazine, I was convinced that the mandate of G’nY should be to publish a ‘research made easy’ popular magazine that caters to the diverse needs of this splendid country of ours. Why India, a reader once asked us. Well, for the discerning information seeker, it becomes at once clear that there is an extreme paucity of indepth, accurate and succinct information that deals with the various concerns of this vast nation.

I felt then, that this should be a forum where serious discourse is summarized and presented with vibrant photos to enrich both the aesthetics as well the need for knowledge. The 100th issue is a milestone, no doubt, but it is also a beginning. With the support of so many people all over the nation, and even beyond the borders, it has bolstered my conviction that there are more than just a-few- good- men out there who are interested in reality beyond trivialities.

This issue a microcosm of what the title mandates—Mission India. We have tried to cover diverse areas of study from increasing climate hazards, ground water paucity, school education, agriculture and economy, not to mention gendered paradigms that need a shift. However, this is not enough, there is more that warrants a discussion—but picture abhi baki hain mere dost, see you in the next issue in the celebratory year of the 100th issue.
