Dear Readers,
Our euphoria knew no bounds when we decided to bring out a hindi edition of our beloved Geography and you. What is more wondrous is that the cry for such an outcome did not emerge from the bowels of our press but from the masses that inhabit several cities and states of our nation. yes, we only willingly surrendered to the pressure. Now our audience is wider than ever and each day Geography and You finds hundreds of new readers.
'This issue is dedicated to the cause of waterways. Of the two main sectors of waterways, inland and marine, the former is in dire need of rejuvenation. We present an indepth analysis of all the waterways and routes to the different realms of the world so that you as a reader may decide what our country really needs. And when we talkof waters, visions of fishy cuisine also comes to our minds. So, here is a deliberation on what goes on underwater and how we may benefit from it in the fullest. Moreover, for all you data-mongers here is your chance to gorge. Turn to the last few pages and see what we have in store for you.
Last but not the least let me deeply regret an omission of an acknowledgement in the Vol. 1, No. 3-4 issue, 2001. The invaluable inputs for the article Hea(r)t and Dust came from the field trip of the students of B.A. final-year, Geography Department, batch 2000- 2001. They conducted this trip under the competent guidance of Ms R. Ahlawat, Ms D. Vajpayee and Ms. R Parijat, lecturers of Miranda House, University of Delhi.
See you in our next endeavour on the highway to ecstasy!
