Urban poor: India Amenities

As per the Census 2011 figures, about 46.5 million people live in slums in metropolitan cities with population of more than one million. The Report ‘Slums in India’ published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, GOI 2011, claims that India has about 93 million people living in slums. The Municipal Corporation area of Greater Mumbai has the highest slum population. Rangpuri, New Delhi.

Abstract: The Indian Government has enhanced its slum development schemes in an effort to bring down urban poverty further.
