Coldwater Fishes of India: The present exploitation of fishery resources in upland regions is primarily from capture fisheries—though fish production through culture is gaining momentum. The total fish production from upland areas forms about 3 per cent of total inland fish production of India as per the 2010 data, which is a very small proportion to the total fish production.
Abstract: Climate change is seriously impacting coldwater fish species with a significant loss of coldwater fish biodiversity and a reduction in fish habitat.
