The camp at Satkosia, open from October to April every year, has been set up along the gorge – on the riverine sand banks of Mahanadi. Similarly tented accommodation can also be availed at Purunakote. The camps are run by local ecotourism groups.
Abstract: Mahanadi, before debouching onto the coastal plains, passes through a narrow gorge with magnificently wooded mountains on either side known as Satkosia Gorge - a rare place of beauty, nature is generously bountiful here.
