I was given one year’s free subscription of G&Y as a prize for winning a quiz competition. I am glad to inform you that I’ve qualified for the Indian Forest Service (IFS), by your good wishes and enlightened guidance through G&Y.

What a fine magazine!
Sometime back I visited a school, Vivekanand School, Anand Vihar, where the geography teacher- Ms Sanjana Mahajan- showed me a copy of G&Y and I immediately fell in love with it. What a fine magazine! Being an educationist, I understand how important is the environment. Your effort in educating people through G&Y is commendable. Please don’t discontinue its publication. With very good wishes and long life to G&Y.

FAQ on AIDS
I always go through the articles in the Health Section. The FAQ on AIDS (March-April 2006 issue of G&Y) is comprehensive and informative. I appreciate the way it has been summarized from the FAQs haphazardly and unendingly given on the NACO website. I wish NACO chould learn presentation from G&Y.

Needed monthly G&Y
I find the magazine very interesting and would appreciate it if you could make this bi-monthly magazine a fortnightly or at least a monthly magazine.

Wind Power Crossfire
The series of articles on wind power is getting better and better by every issue. The way apprehensions on issues related to wind power operations (March-April 2006) have been allayed is commendable. Why don’t you give a write-up on wind power exclusively in Indian perspective in the coming issues?

Other side of Wind power coin
I would appreciate if G&Y also gives other sides of the story on wind power in the country instead of giving only a goody-goody picture. The farmers in Satara and Jaisalmer have been complaining of rains being disrupted due to installation of wind farms, thus, affecting agriculture in the area. Tourism too seems to be facing a flak with the siteseers and tourist guides complaining that the wind turbines spoil the show especially at sunset or sunrise. Further, the wind farms are established by big business houses that only bother about their profits with zero social commitments. I hope to see some balanced write-up on the issue.

Caves of Pearl
I read the article ‘Caves of Pearl: Uncovering Limestone Wonders of Meghalaya’ (March-April 2006 issue of G&Y), it was simply fascinating. I wish I could go myself and see the newly discovered 22.5 km long cave in the Jaintia Hills. Kindly give more articles on the physical aspects of geography in the forthcoming issues.
